Give a dog a loving home and help us continue our breeding program.
What is a Guardian Home?
A Guardian Home is a loving family who raises one of our breeding dogs as their own full-time pet. The dog lives with you permanently; we only bring them back for planned breeding and whelping, then return them to you.
In exchange, you receive a top-quality, health-tested Goldendoodle at little or no cost. When the dog retires from our program (usually after 3–4 litters), they are officially and fully yours.
This arrangement is at the heart of what makes Shelby Doodles MI different; our dogs are raised as family members, not in kennels.
How the process works
1 Apply
Fill out our guardian home application. We look for stable homes with a fenced yard and genuine love for dogs.
2 Meet and Match
We match you with the right dog based on your lifestyle, family size, and preferences.
3 Sign Agreement
A guardian agreement outlines responsibilities for both parties clearly and fairly.
4 Take them Home!
Your new dog moves in! We stay in close contact and provide support throughout.
5 Retirement
After 3–4 litters, your dog is fully yours with no further obligations.
